Tezpur Medical College & Hospital (TMCH) is the newest establishment by the State Government of Assam among all the six medical colleges affiliated to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam and recognized by Medical Council of India. The college was established on 30thJanuary, 2014 in Bihaguri village, 16 Kilometers from Tezpur city. It is a 500-bedded teaching hospital that provides tertiary healthcare to fulfill the ever-growing demand for quality healthcare through state-of-the-art infrastructure at a very minimal cost. TMCH plays a crucial role in providing high-quality medical education to students and tertiary health care to the community. Even though we are a relatively new establishment, we have quickly grown into a preferred destination for health-care and medical services not only for the inhabitants of Sonitpur district, but also for people from all the neighbouring districts and parts of Arunachal Pradesh. The faith of the people in our highly qualified faculty and dedicated paramedical staff gives me immense joy. The continuous and increasing inflow of patients makes TMCH an excellent platform for practical learning which supports the development of our students into competent medical professionals. We integrate medical education with professional ethics and moral virtue so that the upcoming generation of healthcare professionals are motivated to be their selves while serving the people of their communities. I take this opportunity to welcome all faculty and aspiring students to be a part of this inspiring institution.
